In Jan 2012, the number of single family units sold, including condo’s and mobiles dropped 8.7% from 23 units to 21 units for the same period a year ago. However, the dollar volume increased 37.3% from 4.3 million in sales volume to 5.3 million in sales volume. This was helped out by 3 single family homes over $500,000 being sold during this Jan 2012 verses none in Dec 2012. These three homes represented over 50% of the total dollar volume for Jan 2012. Looking at Dec 2011 Vs Jan 2012, homes over $500,000 represented only 13.5% of the total dollar value.
The median price of $150,000 for single family homes in Jan also increased over Dec by almost 5% ($143,000)
Houses on the market - we have an inventory of slightly over 17 months at the end of Jan 2012 vs 16 at the end of Dec 2011. Currently there are 465 single family homes for sale in Aransas County, This includes condos and mobiles/mfg housing.
